To celebrate our enduring legacy, we invite you to participate in the Betty K Jingle Contest. Your challenge: create an original jingle that captures Betty K’s 100+ years of service, our Bahamian ownership and operations, our ability to ship everything, and the fact that we’re still thriving today.
This contest is more than a creative challenge—it’s a celebration of a century-old, Bahamian-owned shipping company that remains a trusted partner for businesses and individuals across The Bahamas and beyond.
BETTY K AGENCIES JINGLE CONTEST — OFFICIAL RULES
1. Eligibility
- Open to individuals and groups of all ages worldwide (parental consent required for minors).
- Employees of Betty K Agencies Ltd., King Ocean, their affiliates, and immediate family members are not eligible to win.
2. Theme & Objective
Create an original jingle that highlights:
- Betty K’s 100+ years of service
- That we are Bahamian-owned and operated
- That we ship everything
- That we’re still here today and thriving
The jingle should be memorable, creative, and appropriate for use in Betty K Agencies’ marketing and branding.
3. Originality
- All entries must be original music and lyrics created by the entrant.
- Entries must not contain portions of copyrighted music or lyrics previously published, performed, or used in any prior competition.
4. Length
- Minimum duration: 45 seconds
- Maximum duration: 2 minutes
- Entries shorter or longer than this will be disqualified. This aligns with typical jingle competition guidelines.
5. Content Standards
- No explicit, offensive, violent, discriminatory, or inappropriate materials.
- Lyrics must be in English.
- Audio files should be high-quality (e.g., MP3, WAV).
6. Submission Guidelines
- Submit your jingle as a digital audio file (MP3 or WAV) via the Betty K Agencies official contest submission page.
- Include a separate typed copy of the lyrics with your entry.
- Provide your full name, email address, and contest title in the submission form (names must not appear in the jingle itself).
7. Entry Limits
- One entry per person or group.
- Group entries should designate one contact person for all official communications.
8. Judging & Criteria
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges selected by Betty K Agencies on the following weighted criteria:
- Creativity & Originality — 25%
- Theme Relevance — 25%
- Lyric Quality & Clarity — 25%
- Melody & Musicality — 15%
- Overall Impact & Memorability — 10%
Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
9. Prizes
$1000 cash prize and the winning jingle will be featured in Betty K Agencies’ marketing and advertising campaigns for years to come. This includes use across digital platforms, social media, radio, and promotional content. The winning entry may become the official signature sound of a Bahamian-owned shipping company with over 100 years of service.
This prize structure celebrates creativity, legacy, and impact—giving talented creators both recognition and reward, while honoring the voice of a company that has proudly served The Bahamas for over a century.
10. Rights & Use
- By entering the contest, you grant Betty K Agencies Ltd. the right to use your jingle for promotional, advertising, or commercial purposes without additional compensation.
- The winning jingle becomes the property of Betty K Agencies Ltd. for future use.
11. Contest Dates
- Contest Opens: February 16
- Contest Closes: March 31
- Winner Announced: April 15
12. Legal
- No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
- Contest is void where prohibited.
- Betty K Agencies Ltd. reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time.
